We’re getting officially hitched the day before in a small family ceremony so Saturday will be fully focused on celebration and fun! There will be plenty of food, music, dancing and activities for the whole family!

Approximate timeline:

  • 4:00PM — Greetings, hugs, snacks, drinks and (hopefully outdoor) games and hangs

  • 5:30PM — Dinner

  • 7:00PM — Dancing

Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine
Three floors of hands-on exhibits, a giant climbing area, maker spaces, and live performances make this a perfect rainy-day activity for kids of all ages.

Casco Bay Lines – Ferry to Peaks Island
Kids love the short ferry ride across Casco Bay. Once on Peaks Island, rent bikes, explore the shoreline, grab an ice cream, or simply enjoy a slower pace.

Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad
Ride a historic train along Portland's waterfront and visit the small railroad museum. A fun outing for train-loving kids.

Eastern Promenade Children's Playground
One of Portland's best playgrounds with climbing structures, swings, open fields, and beautiful views of Casco Bay. Bring a picnic or grab takeout nearby.

East End Beach
A sandy beach with calm water, plenty of room to play, and a walking trail. Even in early October, it's a great spot for skipping rocks and watching boats.

Deering Oaks Park Playground
One of Portland's favorite playgrounds! It's also home to the Portland Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings, making it an easy stop for coffee, pastries, and family fun.

Bug Light Park
A quieter waterfront park with a playground, walking paths, and great views of Portland Harbor.

Mackworth Island State Park
An easy 1.5-mile loop through the woods with shoreline views. Be sure to stop at the famous Fairy Village, where children build tiny fairy houses from sticks, shells, and pinecones.
